BASIC FUNCTION: Must have experience marketing direct to Dentists.Plans, directs, and coordinates all marketing activities, including: product management, continuing education, market research, trade show promotion, and marketing communications. Develops and supervises the implementation of strategies and tactics designed to obtain maximum profitability and volume while meeting budgetary objectives. Including Technical Analytics,product mix and pricing.Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Recommends changes in marketing philosophy and policy when such changes serve the best interests of the company. and the customer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of  eight years prior marketing experience required. MBA preferred. Prior supervisory of marketing experience required.

Direct Supervision: 6 exempt
Indirect Supervision: 24

NATURE AND SCOPE: Directly and through subordinates, the Vice President of Marketing oversees the creation and implementation of Company marketing efforts with the overall objective of ensuring that marketing effectiveness is equal to or better than competitors. Interfaces with various functional areas to develop accurate plans, forecasts, training, and competitive positioning.


1. Develop and execute marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure share of market and profitability of products.

2. Develop, in collaboration with line executives, the broad policies for development of new products, including marketing strategy and introduction tactics.

3. Assure that market intelligence is gathered and analyzed for existing market and new business development. This includes evaluating the global market for competitive activity, pricing, promotion, product line extensions, and distribution activities.
4. Ensure effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.

5. Evaluate market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

6. Promote active communication with sales force and key clinical advisors regarding product support, new product development, and soliciting of new ideas.

7. Direct the New Business Development Team. Assist in identifying product, technology and company acquisition, distribution and/or licensing candidates.

8. Oversee all product management, continuing education, marketing communication, advertising and creative development, trade show, and monthly sales forecasting activities. Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.

9. Attend key trade shows or professional meetings in order to conduct meetings with clinicians, distributors, and potential international partners. Will staff and set-up a Company booth when necessary.

10. Maintain close working relationship with key customers, universities, prospective customers.

11. Gather data and information, as much as possible, from distributors regarding regulatory compliance in each specific market and report information to the Company.

12. Collect and analyze competitive data and update management regarding competitive invitations and strategies.

All employees are expected to perform their duties within their ability as required by the job or as requested by management.

Other: Overnight travel is required approximately 40% of the time.
